Overview
: StutterTalk is a free, weekly, non-profit podcast. Every week on the podcast co-hosts Peter Reitzes and Eric Jackson talk with people who stutter, researchers, speech pathologists and family members. StutterTalk has featured conversations with famous people who stutter such as John Stossel from ABC News and Jack Welch from General Electric, renowned researchers including Dr. Dennis Drayna from the National Institutes of Health and Dr. Gerald Maguire from the University of California, seasoned speech pathologists and counselors such as Dr. Phil Schneider and Dr. David Luterman and leaders in the self-help community including Michael Sugarman, Dr. Lee Reeves and many others.

History: The StutterTalk Podcast began recording and publishing audio podcasts in 2007. Since then StutterTalk has expanded to include Stutter Talk Videos and the Stuttering101 Podcast.

In December of 2009, StutterTalk became a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt organization.

Mission Statement: StutterTalk is dedicated to supporting people who stutter, their families, professionals, students, and the general public by talking openly about stuttering and by providing information about stuttering.

Meet the Board:

Peter Reitzes, MA, CCC-SLP, is a person who stutters and an ASHA certified, New York State licensed, speech-language pathologist working in an elementary school and in private practice in Brooklyn. Mr. Reitzes is co-host and co-founder of the StutterTalk.com podcast and the Stuttering101.com podcast, is the author of 50 Great Activities for Children Who Stutter: Lessons, Insights, and Ideas for Therapy Success (PRO-ED) and has written numerous articles about stuttering and therapy. Mr. Reitzes has taught graduate level stuttering courses at Long Island University, St. John’s University and Touro College. Peter has volunteered and presented dozens of times at self-help workshops and conferences and was co-facilitator of 2002’s Stutter Across America – a series of eight summer workshops hosted in cities across the United States.  Peter currently volunteers for the Our Time Theatre Company.

Eric Jackson, M.A., TSSLD, is an adult stutterer and co-founder and co-host of the StutterTalk and Stuttering101 podcasts. Eric recently graduated from the masters program in Speech-Language Pathology at Brooklyn College, where he was a Graduate Fellow and taught undergraduate courses in public speaking and speech disorders. Eric has served as Chapter Leader of the Oliver Bloodstein Chapter of the National Stuttering Association since 2008, and has written numerous articles about stuttering. He is also a musician in two Brooklyn-based bands. Currently, Eric is an ASHA clinical fellowship candidate, and works as a Speech Teacher with preschool-age children in Brooklyn.

Dr. Phil Schneider
is Associate Professor Emeritus of Communication Disorders at Queens College and in private practice for more than 35 years. In 2004 Dr. Schneider was named the Speech Pathologist of the Year by the National Stuttering Association and in 2006 he was given the highest Honors of the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dr. Schneider has presented more than 200 seminars nationally and internationally and has worked with more than 1000 people with speech and language disorders. Dr. Schneider is a spokesperson for the Stuttering Foundation of America and has appeared on NBC, ABC and WOR TV. His documentary, "Transcending Stuttering — The Inside Story" aired on PBS in 2004. Dr. Schneider is a Board Recognized Fluency Specialist and was one of the first speech-language pathologists awarded this specialty recognition in the area of stuttering by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
