Speech Tools We are Using, Our Earliest Memories of Stuttering, and the Stuttering Olympics (Episode 24)

Download | Duration: 00:36:41

Peter and Eric talk about speech tools we are focusing on this week. Eric talks about working on fluency shaping, Peter talks about his use of pausing and of course we both talk about how much we use voluntary stuttering. We discuss our earliest memories of stuttering and we answer a listener's email about scanning ahead (stuttering radar). This topic of scanning ahead to find words we might stutter on was the featured topic on StutterTalk Episode 11. We also share a very cool submission from a listener for our Stuttering Olympics event of the "Longest/Hardest Block Ever."

Send us your earliest stuttering memory and include as much detail as you would like! Email us at stuttertalk@stuttertalk.com or call our voice mail at 1-206-888-4619.

We want to hear your story! Stuttering Olympic events include:
  • The Longest/Hardest Stutter
  • The Rudest Listener Story
  • The Best Avoidance Story
  • The Funniest Stuttering Story
Thanks to the Brooklyn based Hold Steady for supplying their musical goodness to StutterTalk. We also include some fine music from Eric's bands Rocketship Park and Higgins.
