Download | Duration: 00:54:19
StutterTalk hit the road last week. Peter and Eric were invited by Joe Klein to present at the College of Saint Rose. After speaking to a wonderful room of speech pathologists and graduate students, we recorded this show in Joe's living room. We basically kept talking until Joe's wonderful children came home from a day of skiing. Our topics included going on job interviews, productive stuttering and when a speech pathologist who stutters should bring up his or her own stuttering with clients. The picture below is of Joe Klein.
Here are a few of Joe's articles about stuttering:
- Lost in the Stuttering Woods: Ten Years Later
- When Do I Get to Shut the Door? The Pseudostuttering Experiences of Two Undergraduate Students
- Life is a Journey
- The Impact of Stuttering on Employment Opportunities and Job Performance
As we mentioned on the podcast, the wonderful movie Rocket Science (about a high school student dealing with stuttering and life) is now available on DVD. If you want to order this great film, go to this store at Stuttering Homepage and search on the words "Rocket Science" in the box at the top. By doing so, you are taken to Amazon.com. The Stuttering Homepage (an awesome non-profit site) will get about 60 cents for each DVD ordered if you do it this way.
