Samantha, Elana and Kristel - The Women Take Over (Episode 43)
Download | Duration: 00:55:43
StutterTalk welcomes Samantha, Elana and Kristel. Our conversation was recorded June 28, 2008 at the National Stuttering Association (NSA) annual convention held in Parsippany, NJ. Sam, Elana and Kristel talk about the importance of self-help and the NSA, facing stuttering, pet peeves, stuttering as a gift and much more. StutterTalk gives a big thanks to Nina Reardon-Reeves and everyone at the NSA for inviting us to their convention and setting us up with some top notch recording equipment.
We want to remind our listeners about the 2008 Annual Convention of FRIENDS: The National Association of Young People Who Stutter being held in New Orleans, Louisiana from July 24-26, 2008.
Thanks to The Hold Steady, The National and Yo La Tengo for supplying their musical goodness to StutterTalk. We also include some fine music from Eric's bands Rocketship Park and Higgins.

Please, contract some transcription service site so that whole world people who stutter and who do not understand spoken English can follow the podcasts.

This is a great idea, but we just can't afford such a service. Remember, we are so non-profit that we are under profit. This site has no revenue and costs us money (lots of money) to maintain. For example, we just spent a few days at the NSA convention and that gets very expensive, so we just can't start paying for additional services. Thanks for the suggestion though.

That was interesting. Thank you. I definitely have to agree when being around other people who stutter I feel so much more at ease. I can stutter freely because I guess the other person understands what it is like.
