ELAINE ROBIN is a speech-language pathologist and a person who stutters. She lives in the Seattle area.

STEFAN HOFFMAN is the former vice chair of the International Stuttering Association (ISA). He lives in Ingolstadt, Germany.

ADEYEMI AKINTUNDE, 29, is a founder of the Stuttering Association of Nigeria. He studied accounting at Osun State Polytechnic and economics at Bowen University in Iwo, Osun State. He now manages a family business.

DAVID MITCHELL is a widely respected, award winning novelist from England. His novels include Ghostwritten, Number9Dream, Cloud Atlas, Black Swan Green and the Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. David Mitchell is a person who stutters and a patron of the British Stammering Association.

HARRY DHILLON is president of a London Toastmasters club, works in information technology, is a real estate investor and is active in the stuttering scene in the United Kingdom.

StutterTalk guest host Barry Yeoman has just arrived in Lunteren, The Netherlands for the 10th World Congress for People Who Stutter. On the night of the opening reception, he interviewed organizers Maartje Borghuis and Richard Bourgondiën about their expectations for the congress, as well as the state of stuttering self-help in The Netherlands. Mr. Yeoman then spoke with Christine Simpson of the British Stammering Association about the women-only workshop she will help to lead.

Susannah Parkin

Susannah Parkin and Reuben Schuff join Peter Reitzes to discuss their recent public speaking achievements, stuttering and doing what you fear.

Reuben was awarded second place in the Toastmasters District Contest in North Carolina and Susannah is the 2013 recipient of the The James Soper Merrill Prize which is awarded to the graduate “who, in character and influence, has best typified the highest ideals of the College.” Susannah’s acceptance speech can be viewed here.

Reuben Schuff (center)

SUSANNAH PARKIN is a person who stutters and a recent graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. Susannah interned at the Stuttering Foundation in 2011 and is currently working as a research coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ms. Parkin plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology.

REUBEN SCHUFF is an Aerospace Engineer. He co-founded the Teens Who Stutter (TWST) chapter of the National Stuttering Association (NSA) in Raleigh, North Carolina. Reuben contributed the chapter titled Fluency: My Untrustworthy Friend in the StutterTalk book: Stuttering: Inspiring Stories and Professional Wisdom. Reuben has appeared numerous times on StutterTalk; his appearances are archived here.
