During this episode, Jacquelyn is asked about her video what it feels like to stutter. Jacquelyn discusses acting, confronting the fears of being on stage and the challenges she has faced as an actor. Ms. Revere also discusses the joys of starting her own video blog and hearing from people who stutter from around the world. Caryn, Joel and Roisin

CARYN HERRING, JOEL KORTE and ROISIN MCMANUS (of the “StutterTalk B Team“) discuss Joel’s admission to a recent increase in his stuttering. This evolves into a brief discussion on secondary behaviors, and later, the trio talks about how a years of work in stuttering management can build a foundation for later in life. They conclude the show by discussing the hypothetical (and entirely unrealistic) question, “How many hours a day would you put into working on your stuttering if that work guaranteed a cure for your stuttering?”

George Springer of the Houston Astros

George Springer, a 24 year old rookie outfielder with the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, joins Peter Reitzes to discuss being a professional athlete who stutters. Mr. Springer explains the importance of embracing and accepting stuttering.

When asked if he had any advice for children who stutter, Mr. Springer responded, “I was that kid that didn’t want to speak in class and tried to avoid certain situations. But then, once I just accepted it [stuttering], it actually changed my outlook on pretty much everything and made me a lot happier with myself…Embrace it and don’t let it prevent you from doing the things that you want to do in life.”
